VittaLekha ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our mobile application and related services. By using VittaLekha, you agree to the terms described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the application.
We collect the following types of information when you use VittaLekha: • Account Information: Your name, email address, and password when you create an account. • Business Profile: Business name, type, address, country, currency preference, and tax system configuration. • Financial Records: Sales invoices, purchase bills, and expense entries including amounts, dates, vendor/customer names, line items, tax details, and payment status. This data is entered by you. • Uploaded Documents: Images of invoices or receipts that you upload for AI-powered data extraction. • Contact Information: Names, phone numbers, email addresses, and addresses of your vendors and customers that you add to the app. • Usage Data: App usage patterns, error logs, and performance data to help us improve the service.
We use the information we collect to: • Provide, operate, and maintain the VittaLekha recordkeeping service. • Process invoice images using AI technology to extract financial data automatically. • Generate financial reports, summaries, and analytics based on your records. • Send service-related notifications (e.g., overdue payment reminders). • Improve and debug our application. • Comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data or financial records to any third party.
VittaLekha uses the following trusted third-party services to deliver our features: • Supabase (supabase.com): We use Supabase for secure database storage, user authentication, and file storage. Your data is stored on Supabase's servers, which are hosted on AWS infrastructure. Supabase is SOC 2 compliant. • Anthropic Claude AI (anthropic.com): When you scan or upload an invoice image, it is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API for data extraction. Uploaded images are processed in real-time and are not stored by Anthropic beyond the scope of the API request, per their privacy policy. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these third-party services directly.
Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers with the following protections: • All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL. • Database access is protected by row-level security policies — your data can only be accessed by your account. • Passwords are never stored in plain text; they are securely hashed using industry-standard algorithms. • We regularly review our security practices to protect against unauthorised access, disclosure, or misuse. Despite these measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you choose to delete your account, your personal information and financial records will be permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records by law. You may export all your data at any time from the More > Import & Export section before deleting your account.
You have the following rights regarding your personal data: • Access: You can view all the data you have entered in the app at any time. • Export: You can export your financial records as CSV or Excel files from within the app. • Correction: You can edit or correct your information directly within the app. • Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at support@vittalekha.com. • Portability: You may export your data in a machine-readable format.
VittaLekha is intended for use by individuals aged 18 and older who operate businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by displaying a notice within the app. Continued use of VittaLekha after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
